When it comes to choosing your perfect designer radiator, chances are you are first and foremost thinking about how it will look, rather than the function it will serve.
Do I need to worry about my designer radiator giving enough heat?
When it comes to choosing your perfect designer radiator, chances are you are first and foremost thinking about how it will look, rather than the function it will serve. After all, if interior design is your thing, then a brand spanking new designer radiator can really set your room off in a way a traditional wall radiator simply cannot.
But, it’s worth bearing in mind whether or not you might have to sacrifice any heating performance simply to achieve the look you want, because designer radiators are there to do the job of warming your home, not just looking pretty. In this case, a high-output vertical radiator may be an option worth considering.
One question you will want an answer to is ‘do designer radiators give off enough heat?’
Read on to find out more.
Do designer radiators give enough heat?
Designer radiators come in a very broad range of shapes, sizes and finishes. They are obviously amazing for adding a touch of style to your room but can also be adaptable to suit difference spaces in a way that standard panel radiators can’t. But however great they look, sometimes they won’t offer the same heating performance as a standard radiator.
That doesn’t need to be a problem, though. Provided you know how much output you need to heat your room properly, you can work out which are the best radiators for heat output, which will not only look great, but also do the job of getting your room nice and toasty.
Most designer radiators don’t have convection fins, which means they don’t circulate the warm air they create as effectively as a standard radiator. If your radiators are vertical, they won’t give out the same heat output as horizontal radiators as they don’t have the same length to draw cold air up for convection. And although it doesn’t make a massive difference, certain coloured radiators such as chrome or black ones are less efficient than standard white radiators when it comes to their heating performance.
